On the 28th December 2000, a woman's severed torso was found by the edge of the river Thames. Investigators quickly identified her as Zoe Parker (24), a missing woman from Hounslow. Zoe was also known as Cathy Dennis and had gone missing on the 17th December. She had been involved in sex work and was often seen in and around Isleworth, Feltham, Hounslow and Bournemouth.
Zoe had learning difficulties and had been "in and out of institutions". Despite this, she was very social and made connections with strangers, including fellow homeless people and the clients she met while involved in sex work.
The night Zoe went she was seen with two men. Both were white and had dark hair and one was wearing a white casual jacket, dark trousers and white trainers. The other had a stocky build and wore dark clothing. No more was seen of Zoe until her dismembered upper body was found on the shores of the river.
Police said they were keen to speak with Zoe's friend, known either as "Carmen" or "Carmel", who was also in the Hounslow area and may have information about her or her disappearance.
Zoe Parker's lower torso has never been found.
